Recognised as the UK’s most authentic Northern Soul act, The Signatures are famed nationwide for their powerful live sound and have backed countless original Northern Soul legends. They also recently appeared as the house band for the Northern Soul Special on The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show (BBC 6 Music).

Featuring vocalist Freddy Gilmore, this is Northern Soul at its absolute finest — raw, energetic, and performed completely live.

Expect a full‑throttle journey through rare soul tracks that defined the 1970s dancefloor movement. From Wigan to Blackpool to Cleethorpes, these are the classics that filled all‑nighters across the UK. The Signatures have worked with a roll call of true soul royalty including Tommy Hunt, Dean Parrish, Tobi Legend, Brenda Holloway, Spyder Turner, Pat Lewis, Ruby Andrews, Chairmen of the Board ft. Ken Knox, Eddie Holman, Lorraine Silver, The Flirtations and many more.

Ian Levine

Ian Levine is one of the most influential figures in the history of Northern Soul. Emerging in the early 1970s as a DJ at the Blackpool Mecca, he played a pivotal role in shaping the movement by introducing rare American soul records to UK dance floors. Renowned for his deep musical knowledge and fearless programming, he later expanded his career into songwriting and production, modernising elements of the soul sound and influencing related genres such as disco and hi NRG. Steve Lyons
